Message from Rich Fell, Founder, Piano Service Pro: How did I get to where I am today, Good
Question…. When I was young I was fascinated by music. I always knew
that music would be a part of my life. After high school I
attended the North Bennett Street School. I graduated from
the North Bennett Street School in 1992 with a certification
in the Piano Technology program. Following graduation, I
began my career as a Piano Technician for M. Steinert & Sons
a prominent Steinway piano dealer in Boston area. As a
technician I prepared new Steinway pianos from the factory
for the sales team, rebuilt Steinway actions, maintained
customer pianos, and maintained the concert and artist
pianos. While I was a technician at M. Steinert & Sons I
continued my education by attending the Theodore Steinway
Technical Training School at the Steinway Piano Factory in
New York. My experiences working at the factory on multiple
Steinways delivering a high quality of service was very
valuable. I was able to concentrate on perfecting my skills. In 1995, I accepted a position at the New England
Conservatory of Music as a Piano Technician where I tuned
for many concerts at Jordan Hall along with many other
concerts that the conservatory held. In this position I
maintained the Steinway pianos keeping them at a high level
of performance under difficult and strenuous conditions. In 2000, I returned to M. Steinert & Sons as the Director
of the Service Department, Rebuilding Department and Concert
& Artist program. In this role I was responsible for
training many technicians and working with high profile
artists maintaining Steinway pianos for their concerts and
promotions in and around the Boston metro area. Artists I have worked for include:
I will deliver the same level of expertise and care to your Steinway or other fine piano that these artists receive. |
